Project Life 2014: Week 15

Today it's time to share Project Life Week 15 of 2014! To refresh everyone's memories, this was the time period when Andrew was still living in Portland and Liam and I were already living in Milwaukee. My solution to scrapping Project Life during this timeframe was to have one side of the spread for Andrew in Portland and the other side for Liam and I in Milwaukee.

So, here is the left side of the spread which is Andrew's side this week. Now, I had a challenge this week in that I was dealing with a Design F page protector (with eleven spots) and had few photos to use, both from Andrew in Portland and myself in Milwaukee. Luckily, Andrew took an awesome panoramic shot when he was skiing up on Mt Hood that I decided to split up and span across the four middle photo slots on this page. I think it turned out great!

And here's the right (Milwaukee) side to this week. I tied the two sides together by using two filler cards from the same set I found online. The one above with all the stars on it and then the one on this side with the barcode, "today," and single star.

Project Life 2013: Week 29

Today I'm sharing another Project Life spread from 2013 and created in 2016! Here's Week 29!

Here is the left side of the spread. I've had the "Dirt" overlay in my digital arsenal for awhile, just waiting for the right photo to finally use it. I love how it worked with this photo of Liam and his buddy, Elliot.

And here is the right side. I love the first haircut block in the lower left. I put the whole 4x6 block together in Photoshop and then glued the little baggie of hair on top of the printout. I love that this kids haircut place gave me three separate baggies of his hair so I also have one for his baby book and one for my regular scrapbook.

Project Life 2013: Week 28

I'm starting the blog rolling again with an oldie! Yes, it was just assembled in the past couple weeks but these photos and memories are two and half years old! But, you know what? It's been SO much fun completing these old Project Life layouts now. It's especially been a treat looking at how much Liam has grown in such a short time and reminiscing on all our fun times in Portland.

Here is the left side of the spread. My favorite part of this side is the photo in the upper right. I put it together using a series of shots of Liam and photoshop. The QR code in the lower left leads to a YouTube video I uploaded of Liam having a blast at one of the Portland park's splash pads.

And here is the right side. The photo of Andrew and Liam taken at one of our favorite Portland haunts, Breakside Brewery, is an all-time favorite of mine and got it's own dedicated traditional layout in my scrapbook.

I'm back!!

Wow! Is there anyone out there still?

So it's been...well...cough...eleven months...cough...

It has been quite a year...we barely got settled into our house when we welcomed Baby Boy #2 - Jensen Michael - seven weeks early. After a month-long stay in the NICU, I am happy to say he is now a happy, healthy, mischievous 10-month-old! But, it's been quite an adjustment to learning how to be a family of four and juggle two boys. I don't know how you super moms do it! Unfortunately, the craziness of this past year has caused me to completely neglect this hobby that I love. But, I'm back! It may be a slow process getting back into the swing of things, but I'm trying. So bear with me as I try to play catchup and remember how to use my paper trimmer and ATG gun...it could get messy!

So, in the past couple weeks, I have managed to throw together three Project Life spreads going way back to 2013 and 2014 and will share them over the next few days. I've decided I will definitely complete all my Project Life albums from 2013 onwards, still dedicating one spread to each week, and I just accepted the fact it will take lots of time. I have thankfully been diligent about writing up my weekly notes and organizing my photos which makes catching up on Project Life much easier. I am going to start my 2016 album here soon. The plan is to keep up as much as possible in 2016 and work back filling in all the missing weeks from 2013, 2014 and 2015 when I can. We will see how that works.

And if it doesn't, that's okay. See, I don't do new year's resolutions. But, I saw this quote posted on FaceBook a couple weeks ago and decided to adopt it as my 2016 mantra...

So that's how I plan to scrapbook this year. I am just going to breathe, trust, let go and see what happens...and I am just going to ENJOY the process. It doesn't matter if I'm scrapping last week, last month or last year as long as I am finding pleasure in it.

So, there you have it! Thank you to all who took the time to read this post. I promise I'll be posting scrappy creations here very soon...starting with those Project Life spreads!
